Religion: Officially Protestant, but more of a live and let live philosophy than a true religion.

Government: Representative democracy (Republic, duh) modeled on the United States.

Likes: Capitals (He had five in ten years). Debtors. Flirting with nationhood. Cattle. Free land from Mexico.

Dislikes: Creditors (to this day Texas is one of the most debtor-friendly states in the US). Fun fact: The homestead exemption in Urban areas is 10 Acres - i.e. you could own 10 acres of downtown Houston, default on a billion dollars worth of loans, and still get to keep that land. The exemption is larger in rural areas. Other dislikes: Mexico, following Mexican laws on free land obtained from Mexico, women & minorities. Also, Mexico.
